This summer, Ermitage International School offered an unforgettable experience through its Summer Holiday Camps, designed to help children improve their French or English skills while immersing themselves in French culture. Set in the charming town of Maisons-Laffitte, known as the “Cité du cheval” for its rich equestrian heritage, the school provided a perfect environment for children to learn, explore, and make lifelong memories.

Our two camps for children and teenagers were a great success! We welcomed over 40 children and teens from all around the world. Participants learned new languages while having fun and building new friendship.

Kids Camp: A Sports-Fuelled Summer for 3 to 10-Year-Olds

For younger children, the Kids Camp was an action-packed three-week adventure with a focus on sports, framed around the Summer Olympic Games. Campers dove into thrilling water-based activities, including relay races, water balloon tosses, and other fun challenges, all designed to build teamwork and keep cool in the summer heat.

This camp also saw campers mastering gymnastics, and developing strength, flexibility, and balance through expert-led training sessions. Apart from sports, participants dove into manual activities including DIY and painting. It was a chance for participants to build their creative skills while having a blast!

Finally, track and field events took centre stage, transforming the campers into young athletes through sports like sprinting, long jump, and relay races. The focus was on both technique and endurance, with thrilling competitions that allowed each child to shine.

Teenagers Camp: Tailored Fun for 10 to 16-Year-Olds

Older campers had a range of options to choose from, allowing them to customise their summer experience. Whether they opted for English or French classes, multi-sport activities, or equestrian adventures, the camp offered a tailor-made experience that combined learning with physical activity and cultural experiences.

The Multisports Camp focusing on the Olympics theme transformed the school into an Olympic-inspired playground, where teenagers explored a variety of sports like climbing, golf, and a treetop adventure course. Each activity aimed to capture the spirit of the Olympic Games and encouraged participants to develop their athletic skills.

For horse lovers, the equestrian camp offered a truly unique experience. Campers bonded with their horses and participated in dressage, jumping, and trail rides through Maisons-Laffitte's enchanting forest, known for its extensive network of bridle paths. Activities were tailored to each child’s skill level, ensuring a safe and rewarding experience.

In addition to the exciting sports and language programmes, teenagers enjoyed a mix of interactive lessons, visits to Paris landmarks such as the Eiffel Tower and the Champs-Élysées, and savoured delicious French cuisine. The camp offered both day and boarding options, with stays of one or two weeks, ensuring flexibility for families.
