Congratulations to MYP 5 students Flavio, Isabella, Victor, Alex and DP 1 students Romane and Isabel, members of the Ermitage ISP MUN team, for their participation in the SMUN 2030 virtual Model United Nations conference which took place over the February Break. The Conference was hosted in Barcelona and had over 200 participants from all over the world. The S'MUN conference fast-forwarded participants to 2030 and forced them to solve the issues of the future through the collaboration of nations.

“It was a great experience to put into practice the leadership and debating skills which we had learnt over the last couple of months. On behalf of the whole team, I want to say that we are incredibly grateful to the school for giving us this opportunity and specifically Ms. Linnenen and Elena (DP2) for preparing us.” - Flavio

Everybody did well and exceeded all expectations as first timers, we managed to have an interesting and insightful debate, with many being able to pass their final resolutions. More specifically, Romane, representing South Africa in the ECOSOC as well as Flavio, representing Ethiopia at UNESCO won the Best Diplomat Awards (2nd place). Isabel received the Best Delegate Award for representing the Philippines at ECOSOC. Isabel gave a speech to the whole assembly, which, along with the awards ceremony will be shared soon.

“All the students in the MUN team are extremely self-driven, highly motivated, and hardworking!” - Miss Linnanen
