Happy United Nations Day!

In line with the principles of the United Nations, we celebrated International Day at Ermitage IB School. With over 45 countries represented, the event offered an incredible interweaving of culture, language, games and food.

It created a space for curiosity and exchange, key foundations of international-mindedness, which is such a strong focus of our IB programmes. We sparked discussions about what "my country" means, especially given that many of our students and staff have lived in more than one country, may hold more than one passport, or have parents from more than one culture.

We hold this event early in the year to open the door to ongoing and future exchange. Students delighted in finding peers from their home countries and showed real open-mindedness as they explored (our Ermitage version of) the world. As one student said, 'It felt so good to be part of every country at our school’.
