Dear Families, Students, Colleagues, Alumni,

Mrs. Margaret Peyrard, Head of IB Programs, and trusted pillar of the Ermitage community and family since 2001 has decided that the time has come to step away from her responsibilities. Ermitage has benefited greatly from her unwavering passion for education and her commitment to leading young minds in their development.

Mrs. Peyrard’s accomplishments at Ermitage are many and have considerably altered and improved who and what we are. Through her dedicated work and seemingly limitless energy, she has guided the growth and development of the IB at Ermitage and set us on the right path for success.

Students and teachers who have had the luck of working with or being taught by Mrs. Peyrard can all testify to her passion for a quality education based on strong values of empathy, belonging, resilience while never straying far from her beloved IB Learner Profile. Mrs. Peyrard is a true lifelong learner and has always applied herself to bettering her students by giving them her all.

Mrs. Peyrard will be greatly missed as we continue the work that she has started, and we will proudly strive to follow in her footsteps. We hope to continue seeing Margaret around Maisons-Laffitte and that she will accept to return to lead the ICU2 India service trip at least one more time!

Message from Margaret Peyrard

As I enter into my last weeks at Ermitage, I would like to express my deep appreciation and gratitude for our dedicated and caring leadership team, our incredible teaching colleagues and staff, our dynamic IB students, and our supportive families. It seems like just a short while ago that I joined the school in 2001; a parent of three small children, who have all benefited from marvelous teaching in the primary, collège, lycée, and IB sections of the school.

My time as a teacher in the primary and the collège, starting in 2006 prepared me for new adventures in the IB section, where I joined a team bringing the IB to Ermitage in 2009. From our small first IBDP cohort of 30 to our thriving IB Program with over 200 students for next fall, I have had the privilege of accompanying students on their IB journey, preparing them for university and beyond.

I will miss each and every one of my colleagues and all Ermitage families, but most of all I will remember and miss the students. Each IB student has touched me personally by their engagement in our school community, their dedication to their studies, their joy in learning, and their resilience in the face of challenges. Ermitage students are unique: caring, knowledgeable global citizens ready to embrace the opportunities beyond our walls. It has truly been an honor to serve this vibrant, innovative, diverse, and supportive school community. While I will be leaving my role, I will always remain a part of the Ermitage family.

Congratulations to Mrs. Peyrard for a wonderful career at Ermitage and a big thank you on behalf of the entire Ermitage community for her leadership, guidance, and passion. As former head of the IB Program, I will be personally guiding the transition and I trust in our wonderful team of coordinators, teachers, and administrators to continue leading this wonderful section with poise and determination.

Sincerely,

Benjamin Hunter
Head of School
