The Collège has been transformed

Just a few days before the holidays officially began, an unmistakably strange and thrilling atmosphere took captivating hold of the Ermitage community! It was a powerful demonstration of creative expression and shared fun at the school. A place typically dedicated to academic rigor was wonderfully transformed. The corridors of the collège were deliberately emptied of their usual student buzz and instead filled with theatrical cobwebs, silhouettes of bats, and the looming presence of vampires, all crafted by students and staff to establish a truly immersive environment for Halloween.

A Frighteningly Fun Party

The undisputed climax of this spirited transformation was the horror party that brought together the
collégiens and MYP students in the gymnasium. This event was a testament to the school's strong sense of community, uniting different age groups in a celebration of shared fantasy and fun. The space was teeming with an explosion of student creativity, as creatures each more frightening and imaginative than the last materialized. We encountered chilling aliens, grinning giant pumpkins, shambling zombies, and countless other original monsters who had come to celebrate the joy of the macabre. The sheer level of effort and detail in the costumes highlighted the students' enthusiasm and commitment to the festive period.

Halloween Raising Funds

Further demonstrating their initiative, the MYP also hosted a Dracula Bake Sale! This effort didn't just showcase their culinary talents; it was a shining example of their dedication to community action and social responsibility, raising funds for a worthy cause while adding some delicious and ghastly treats to the festivities.

Complementing this effort, the Amicale (Parents' Association) for the primary students also contributed to the charitable spirit by organizing their own separate, successful bake sale. This wonderful partnership between parents and the school created a truly festive atmosphere around the fundraising event, which made it possible to organise more activities within the primary school.

A Spooktacular Week at Holiday camp

This inclusive spirit was evident across all sections of the school. Last week, the primary school had already set an energetic and cheerful tone by welcoming a crowd of joyful monsters to its Autumn Holiday Camp. This early celebration fostered a sense of belonging and ensured that even the youngest students from Moyenne Section to CM2 could partake in the festive fun.

An Epic Halloween Fun Run

Finally, the Halloween excitement culminated in an energetic display of physicality and camaraderie as the MYP and DP students gathered for the exciting Halloween Fun Run. Dressed up in full costume, they demonstrated impressive perseverance by braving the distance for a wild race. This high-energy event, which capped off the period of festivities with a shared sense of good humour and vigour, perfectly encapsulated the school's dedication to holistic learning and spirited participation.

A Competition Cake for Boarding!
Boarding students also had a terrifyingly good Halloween! Their boarding parents organized a gruesome cake competition that brought out the darkest limits of their creativity. The results were incredibly realistic and chilling: every boarding group presented a horror-show masterpiece. Imagine: a bloody brain cake; a dessert life-sized cockroach; a crumbling, a graveyard scene; and cakes dripping with faux blood. Which terrifying creation steals the prize in your book?

Happy Halloween! 🦇🎃
