On January 26 & 27, the DP 1 and DP 2 Economics, Business Management and Global Politics students, as well as the MUN group, welcomed a guest speaker, Dr. Patrick Reichert. Dr. Reichert earned a Ph.D. in Economics and Management from Solvay Brussels School and is currently a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at IMD Business School, a top ranked business school. He also teaches classes on topics such as Microfinance and Social Entrepreneurship.

Dr. Reichart gave a short presentation before opening the floor to the students and starting a discussion where they could all ask questions and debate topics. They talked about sustainability, how to reduce carbon emissions and the 16 aims of EDG (European Green Deal) to reduce climate change. Through these discussions with Dr. Reichert, our students critically thought about social entrepreneurship and agents of change.

DP 2 Calixthe took away from the session that “you cannot always trust companies statements and promises about sustainability” and found Dr. Reichart’s demonstrations of this through real life examples very informative.
