Spelling bee competition between primary classes

At Ermitage we foster learning through playful activities for our youngest students. With this in mind, the Primary School organised its annual Spelling Bee Competition on 5 June. This event aims to encourage students with their English spelling and general knowledge, and to get some healthy learning competition going in the Primary School.

Each class of CE2 - CM2 pre-selected the two best spellers to take part in the competition. Students from CP to CM2, teachers, and parents gathered in the gymnasium to encourage the 24 contestants. They went head-to-head in front of a jury composed of their principal and two of their teachers.

The event, hosted by Mrs Elizabeth, was punctuated by the cheers and the applause of the crowd, encouraging the students to give their best. All the contenders delivered a remarkable performance, spelling intricate words at an incredible pace. After ten rounds, Albane won the competition; the first runner-up was Gabriel, and the second one was Nehir. Congratulations to our Top 3 for this wonderful showcase of their spelling skills!

It was a lovely event with a huge turn-out from students and teachers who came to support their classmates. A thrilling, academic event that we hope will continue for many years to come.
