May 22nd, 2015, was a proud day for parents and teachers alike at the Chateau of Maisons Laffitte in celebration of the IB2 graduating class of 2015. Under seventeenth century chandeliers, twenty-four graduates walked down the aisle in their bottle green caps and gowns ready to receive their diplomas and for many, special awards. The Keynote speaker, Dr. Mike Walker, Headmaster at Felsted School in Felsted, England, spoke to the graduates in celebration of their potential, highlighting the importance of both critical thinking as well as being present in enjoying their successes.  Ermitage Headmaster, Chris Hunter, as well as IBDP Coordinator, Ben Hunter, also gave moving speeches on students’ successes within the school and their bright future to come. 

Several students received awards including: Grace L., Mei B., Axel F. and Louise L. for Round Square IDEALS and Partnership; Mae E., Rowena W. and Stella DF. for Academic Excellence; Ulysse H., Jiri J. and Tyrah VBH. for IB Learner Profile; and last but certainly not least Mae E. received the Headmaster’s Award for her vast contributions to CAS projects, such as Breast Assured, as well as her outstanding academic achievements. Mae was a consistent positive energy within the school and she truly embodies the Ermitage mission in being aware and compassionate, knowledgeable and responsible. This award was introduced by the 2014 recipient, Ben Lillian. Congratulations to all well deserving recipients! 

One of the many highlights of the ceremony was a graduate speech created and presented by student elected speakers Ulysse H. and Jiri J. This colourful moment of the ceremony celebrated the many attributes of the graduating students as well as thanked the many teachers that assisted the students in getting to where they are today. 

This year’s graduates leave Ermitage with offers to various prestigious universities which include the London School of Economics, Kings College, Virginia Tech Engineering School, Exeter, the University of Bath, the University of Syracuse among others.
