The first week of the October holidays was rich in adventures and creativity for the children participating in our holiday camp at Ermitage International School. Over the course of a week, these young explorers had the opportunity to take part in a multitude of captivating activities centred around the themes of autumn and Halloween, offering a delightful blend of learning and fun. Discover a glimpse of the highlights of this remarkable week below:

Bonding with the Ponies

The little adventurers had a privileged moment at the Maisons-Laffitte pony club, where they learned more about the horses and ponies: how they live within the pony club, what they eat, and what their needs are... After these initial discoveries, they had the chance to prepare the ponies by brushing and petting them, sharing genuine moments of complicity with their new four-legged friends.

Next, the young riders, accompanied by the ponies, participated in a fun obstacle course: slaloms, jumps, and hoops, among other challenges. A great opportunity to reinforce the bonds created at the start of the activity. To conclude this pony club visit, the children were able to mount the ponies and enjoy a peaceful ride through the park, exchanging one last moment together to fully savour this unforgettable experience.

Between Pumpkins and Creativity: An Array of Autumnal Activities

Throughout the week, the children let their creativity shine during various craft workshops inspired by the Halloween theme. Whether it was decorating pumpkins in different materials, making bracelets, or creating resin objects, each activity was an occasion for self-expression and unleashing their boundless imagination.

The young chefs also had the opportunity to discover some culinary activities, sharing a delightful moment preparing tasty treats like delicious apple "doughnuts" sprinkled with candies and decorations. The most curious participants also found their fill of enjoyment during this week, as they had the chance to live a fascinating scientific experience by creating cyanotypes, an ancestral photographic technique producing sublime blue and gray tones. For this, they applied a liquid to paper, arranged leaves and flowers on it, and then exposed it to the sun. After a water rinse, the results were magical, with hues of blue and gray that left them all in awe.

A Final Day Full of Surprises!

The week came to a close in style with a special Halloween day. The children began by painting wooden pumpkins to decorate the room, immersing them in the spirit of this special day. In the afternoon, an exciting treasure hunt was organised outdoors, in the verdant spaces of the school. The young explorers enthusiastically set out to find the hidden candies scattered everywhere. To cap off this day in beauty, all the children gathered for the grand Halloween party, where they could dance and have fun together one last time.

This week has been a true adventure, blending discoveries, creativity, and shared moments of joy. The memories created during these days will remain etched in their minds, until the next adventure!
