Two weeks ago, we shared the story of Thomas’ student exchange experience with you. oday, you will discover Audrey's testimonial after spending 3 weeks in Germany:
“On my 3 week exchange to Landheim Schondorf, I got the chance to make a lot of friends and fully immerse myself in German culture. I was made to feel right at home with my German family who even greeted me at the airport with a homemade welcome sign! I enjoyed every moment. I followed classes fully in German and saw a great improvement in my German proficiency. My host family took me to visit Munich and we got to go to the famous Hofbrauhaus in Munich. I love trying a variety of Bavarian dishes such as Bretzel (They are much bigger than in France!), Obatzda (a Bavarian cheese spread), and Spaetzle (German noodles, which I enjoyed).
Landheim is a beautiful school on the banks of the Ammersee lake and the school has its own rowing boats for activities. I learnt quite a lot about German culture during my 3 week stay. I was also lucky to take part in the Maibaumaufstellen festival: on the 1st of May every village, town and city in Bavaria celebrates May Day. A traditional May Day celebration usually consists of traditional Bavarian food with beer, music, and dancing around the Maibaum (May Pole) which was decorated with figures and ribbons. Dana, my host sister, introduced me to her friends who came from all over the world to board at the school. Hopefully, she will come visit me in France this summer. I would definitely recommend taking part in the Exchange Program at Ermitage, it was an unforgettable experience!”
