Message from Head of School: Recap of the Rentrée

Message from Head of School: Recap of the Rentrée
Communications

Dear Families, Students,

As we break for the Toussaint vacation, I would like to take this opportunity to look back on the rentrée and the experiences that have made it such a success.

Despite the difficult sanitary conditions, we were pleased to welcome close to 1400 students to our various sections. Students from around the world were able to join our school and infuse this academic year with their varied international experiences. We have also welcomed back a very important proportion of students that were with us last year - as you were roughly 98% to continue to trust Ermitage to educate your children.

As you will see from our recent news posts, our students were able to engage in a variety of activities and experiences from the very start of the year. They were given many opportunities to discover new areas of knowledge and to push themselves academically in and outside of the classroom.

Our boarding students brought a great energy and enthusiasm to our campus, keeping busy with sports, activities, outings, and study throughout the evenings and weekends, and supporting each other - already making lifelong friends.

I would like to thank everyone for scrupulously following the sanitary protocols. Protocols which limited the impact that the virus had on our day to day lives in the school. We were able to keep the number of cases to a very limited number and thanks to the quick responses and coordination of our teams, were never at risk of closing a class. The virus will undoubtedly continue to pose challenges and restrictions moving forward but our continued vigilance will help slow the spread and its impact on our school community. Please continue your efforts and stay safe!

We have created a wonderful momentum of learning and teaching - I hope that students and teachers will return rested and refreshed for more wonderful experiences at Ermitage.

Have a safe and restful break,

Ben Hunter
