With new norms comes new traditions, friendships, and discoveries, and our resilient students are quick to adapt to new challenges. Ermitage strives to maintain a healthy, active, and social lifestyle, and our intercultural community has made our students even stronger.
Our Gap year student from Germany, Therese, introduced "Kubb" to our students. Also known as Viking Chess, this lawn game is akin to horseshoes, whereby sticks are thrown to knock down wickets.
Several of the students continue to attend personal fitness sessions on weekday evenings. Weekends showcase a variety of cultural activities including: Crossfit, capoeira, and flamenco.
Confinement has led to many culinary explorations! Carbonara pasta, homemade pizza, and, some French classics (crêpes, choco-banana muffins, croissants & pains au chocolat) are a few of the masterpieces our hungry boarders had the chance to enjoy.
Our students have also expressed their artistic abilities through acrylic paint and sewing machines. Their talents have really shown through in their portraits and tot bags!
Plans on the agenda include a night hide-and-seek game and thematic dinners with one of the students cooking a recipe from various countries. Our first dinner will be a Lebanese-inspired vegetarian dinner featuring hummus, tabbouleh, and loubieh. Our students are happy at home and we look forward to the activities ahead!
