The IB administrative team put their IB skills to the test, reflected, adapted, and innovated, proudly hosting Ermitage's 1st Virtual Commencement Ceremony on Saturday, June 13th 2020.
Over 215 family members, friends and Ermitage alumni participated from 28 different countries, ranging from Singapore, Australia and South Africa to Argentina and the USA. Ermitage graduates turned their tassels from right to left from across France, Russia, Bulgaria, Italy, the Netherlands and the USA.
This 10th annual celebration was momentous not only for the remarkable achievements of the IBDP2 graduates, but for the camaraderie, innovation and dedication shown by all participants leading up to this unprecedented event.
With the intent to offer the extra special moments families look forward to, while navigating the restrictions of Covid-19, students were invited for an individual photoshoot on campus in their celebratory cap and gown. For boarding students who could no longer access the campus during confinement, they were shipped a care package to prepare for their graduation.
The event included speeches from Ermitage faculty, IBDP2 students and alumni as well as a virtual art exhibit and class video. A selection is featured below.
There was also a special surprise lovingly prepared by the staff to send the students off in style.
