Reflections from 1974

I started as a student at l'Ermitage in 1968. I was 4 years old. I was the only English child in the school and my father was British Chaplin at Maison Laffitte. After a few years, Mme Thommeret asked my mother whether she would take in overflow boarders to give them the opportunity of speaking English and so we did. I left to go to boarding school in England at the age of 11.

It is amazing to see how the school has embraced Mme Thommeret's dream of internationalism over the passed 40 years.

2 years ago I stood outside the school gates on a summers evening and shared my memories of school with my daughters - they are as vivid today as they have ever been.

I wish you continues success over the coming years.

I attach a photo of the first page of a book that was presented to me by Mme Thommeret when I left Ermitage in 1974:

Kind regards,
