Ermitage is always looking for new talent to add to our team. We look for a solid knowledge base of the subject to be taught, but we also seek candidates willing to work with different pedagogical approaches and with colleagues from all over the world. Fully qualified candidates should demonstrate high academic standards and be able to challenge and engage students by initiating and facilitating classroom discussions. Ideal candidates are bilingual in French and English and hold an EU passport and/or have relevant working papers for employment in France.

Gender Equality

Based on the calculation method defined by the French government, Ermitage scored out 93 of a possible 100 points on the gender equality yardstick. Four criteria have been defined with a maximum of 100 points:

The difference in compensation between men and women (from 0 to 40 points)
The difference in individual pay rises between men and women (from 0 to 35 points)
The percentage of women employees receiving pay raises after returning from maternity leave (from 0 to 15 points)
The percentage of women among the top ten highest paid employees (from 0 to 10 points).

Gap Student Role

Are you a recent high school graduate seeking an enriching work experience in another country? Gap students who are over 18 years of age are welcome to apply for fall and spring semesters at Ermitage. Our most recent Gap Students have joined us from Australia, Colombia, Scotland, Mongolia, Canada, and the UK.

IB MYP French A (Language & Literature) and French B (FLE) Teacher – Part Time, starting December 2025

If so, we invite you to apply for the part-time position of IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) French A (Language & Literature for Francophone students) and French B (FLE for students learning French as an additional language) at Ermitage International IB School, in Maisons-Laffitte, Paris.

We are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic educator who is passionate about French Language and Literature, with experience teaching both French A and/or French B. The ideal candidate will have a strong subject background, a commitment to interactive and inquiry-based language learning, and the ability to inspire students through communication, culture, and critical thinking.

We are an international school with a diverse, global team of IB educators focused on student wellbeing and success. We are seeking candidates with a solid foundation in French language teaching, who are eager to engage with innovative pedagogy and collaborate with colleagues in a multicultural environment. Fully qualified candidates should demonstrate high academic standards and be able to challenge and support students to achieve their full potential.

The responsibilities of the role include

Teaching IB MYP French A (Language & Literature) and/or French B (FLE), ensuring engaging and effective learning experiences
Assessing student progress and providing meaningful feedback
Collaborating with colleagues on interdisciplinary initiatives and curriculum planning
Promoting inquiry-based learning, critical thinking, and appreciation for language and literature
Maintaining a positive classroom atmosphere and strong professional relationships with students, staff, and parents

Availability requirement: available to teach on Tuesday and Thursday mornings.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in French Literature, Linguistics, or a related field
Recognised teaching qualification
2+ years of experience teaching in an IB school or similar international context
Familiarity with IB frameworks (French A and/or French B), or willingness to learning
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team

How to Apply?

This part-time position begins in December 2025, initially for one school year, with the possibility of renewal.

This is a locally recruited role. Salary is pro-rata, commensurate with experience. All staff have access to professional development opportunities through the IB, ECIS, and other relevant providers aligned with school priorities and individual roles.
