Gender Equality

Based on the calculation method defined by the French government, Ermitage scored out 98 of a possible 100 points on the gender equality yardstick. Four criteria have been defined with a maximum of 100 points:

The difference in compensation between men and women (from 0 to 40 points)
The difference in individual pay rises between men and women (from 0 to 35 points)
The percentage of women employees receiving pay raises after returning from maternity leave (from 0 to 15 points)
The percentage of women among the top ten highest paid employees (from 0 to 10 points).

We are looking for a dynamic and skilled individual who is passionate about leading our dedicated small team of Individuals & Societies IB teachers as academic Head of Department, together with teaching of MYP I&S and DP Global Politics and History.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the latest evidence-based approaches to teaching, with a thorough understanding of the requirements of the DP Global Politics, courses, and a commitment to I&S learning in MYP.

The responsibilities of the role include:

● Departmental leadership and staff development as a member of the academic leadership team

● Overseeing appropriate progress of students within the I&S department

● Development, implementation and monitoring of the I&S curriculum as per schoolwide and IB curriculum design principles

● Delivering engaging and effective I&S learning and assessment

● Collaborating with other teachers and staff to maximise student learning and progress

● Maintaining a positive learning environment through effective interpersonal skills and forming positive and professional relationships with students, staff, and parents

Requirements:

● Bachelor's degree in a related humanities field

● Recognised teaching qualification

● 3+ years of successful experience teaching Global Politics and/or History at DP (or similar) in an international school setting

● Knowledge of IB Programme approaches and curriculum - or willingness to train and adapt

● Successful and demonstrable experience of team leadership responsibilities

● Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

● Ability to work independently and as part of a team

The candidate must be able to teach and perform all related functions in English, our school language of communication and instruction. It would be an advantage to hold an EU passport and/or have relevant working papers for employment in France.

Learning Support Teacher in the Diverse Learning Needs Department

Student support: support individual students to identify and implement individual plan, set individual goals, and identify strategies for effective learning, in collaboration with Head of Diverse Learning Needs
Instruction: provide one-on-one/small group instruction to students via our Resource Room learning space
Classroom support: Provide one-on-one/small group learning support to students within their core lessons, in collaboration with the main classroom teacher
Inclusive access arrangements: scribe, read aloud, and otherwise assist students who have Inclusive Access Arrangements in the classroom and for all internal/ external examinations as required
Behavioural Support: implement and monitor individual student behavioural interventions and support plans when necessary
Collaboration: support the teaching team to design and modify methods/resources to make the curriculum accessible to students with diverse learning needs
Progress Monitoring: track and document the progress students with diverse learning needs towards their learning goals
Advocacy: advocate for students’ needs within the school system to ensure they receive appropriate support and resources
Cover: where needed, providing general classroom cover in case of teacher absence (maximum 5 hours a week, within working week)

Requirements:

Qualifications

Qualified or pursuing training in special needs support or related field
Experience of working with middle and high school aged students
Experience of supporting students to implement strategies to maximise learning
University degree and/or teaching qualification preferable

Science Lab Technician

Job Type: Full, permanent with daily working hours 08:30-16:00.

The Role: Aligned with the Ermitage International IB School Mission, Vision, and Goals, and in line with the IB philosophy, the Science Lab Technician supports the Science Department to ensure effective and safe delivery of practical science lessons, contributing to exceptional learning outcomes for students. The Science Lab Technician reports to the Head of Sciences Department and collaborates closely with science teachers and students, with colleagues at the IB School and Collège.

Salary: Salary is dependent on experience (27000 - 30000 Euros per year).

Lab Preparation and Maintenance: Prepare and set up laboratory equipment, materials, and experiments according to the teachers’ requirements, ensuring all equipment is in good working order.
Safety Compliance: Ensure all laboratory practices comply with health and safety regulations, maintaining a safe environment for students and staff.
Resource Management: Manage and organise laboratory resources, including chemicals, tools, and equipment, maintaining accurate inventories and ordering supplies as needed.
Support During Lessons: Assist teachers and students during laboratory sessions, providing technical support and guidance to enhance the learning experience; and providing Science teacher cover where needed.
Equipment Maintenance and Repairs: Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on laboratory equipment, arranging for external repairs when necessary.
Documentation: Maintain accurate records of experiments, safety checks, and inventory levels, ensuring all documentation meets national, school and IB standards.
