Our school has always believed in the value of travel and discovery. Student trips are a pillar of the Ermitage experience and we offer internally organized opportunities or travel through various partnerships including truly exceptional cultural trips and humanitarian missions. In Collaboration With Our Partners

With our vast international network, we are able to offer a variety of trips through our partners. Conferences, debates and international knowledge competitions are just a few of the possibilities, and each one provides Ermitage students with an opportunity for enrichment and learning.

World Scholar's Cup

Leadership Conferences

Every year, Ermitage encourages students to participate in Round Square and Model United Nations (MUN) conferences internationally. We pride ourselves in sending student representatives to as many conferences as possible.

These events give children a chance to explore new cultures while discussing global issues with their peers from different backgrounds and countries. They always offer enlightening experiences and allow students to develop their leadership skills.

Regional and International Round Square Conferences
- 3-day or full week trips somewhere in the world for various age groups
- These conferences take our students to amazing places, from the UK where they met the Queen in person, to South Africa, Canada, the US, India, or Thailand
- International Conferences last 1 week and are often combined with an additional week for humanitarian work or adventure (past activities included hiking in Botswana and building a water tower for a school in Thailand)
Model United Nations
- This simulation of the United Nations organization aims to train participants in the field of international negotiations and promote human rights awareness, but it also helps students develop communication, international relations and diplomacy skills.
- Through MUN, our students have traveled throughout Europe and to New York to connect with their peers internationally and familiarize themselves with the procedures of the United Nations by assuming the roles of delegates.

World Scholar's Cup

This international academic program is a team competition that unites over 15,000 students from around 65 countries. The World Scholar's Cup challenges participants to compete through debates, written exercises and tests as individuals or in groups. The goal is to intellectually stimulate students in a context that is completely different from the classroom. It also gives them an opportunity to travel, meet teams from other countries, cultures and backgrounds, creating an unforgettable learning and growing experience.

In the 2018-2019 school year, a team of Ermitage students qualified for the Global Round of the World Scholar's Cup in the Hague with 1900 students from 600 teams and 51 different countries! The competition was tough, but our team pulled through and qualified for the Tournament of Champions at Yale University in the United States, which took place in November 2019.

Round Square

Round Square is a unique educational philosophy, spearheaded by a world-wide network of over 200 schools on five continents. Member schools come together to enrich the student experience through international learning opportunities. By participating in exchanges and humanitarian missions organized with Round Square, our students become more aware of their place in today's ever-changing world.

Humanitarian Trips

Student Exchanges

Starting in Collège and IB MYP 1
Short or long stays on individual or group trips
Examples of previous exchanges:
- 4 weeks in Australia
- 1 week group trip to India (2nd part of our humanitarian mission) where students were hosted by families from a prestigious RS school, whose students then came to Ermitage for a week
- 4-day group trip to Denmark
- 10 days at a school in Atlanta, Georgia"

Internationalism, Democracy, Environment, Adventure, Leadership and Service: these pillars are the foundation of the Round Square philosophy and they accurately reflect the Ermitage curricula, as well as our many school and community projects.

Projects to support local charity organizations: Love in a Box, Banque Alimentaire (food bank), Nettoyons la nature (nature cleanup), Mécénat Chirurgie Cardiaque (hosting children who come to France for heart surgery)
