Student Houses
Ermitage students who choose to board, either for 5 or 7 days, will have the opportunity to live in one of Ermitage's charming historic homes. These homes are just a short walk to the main campus, and can be seen on the Maisons-Laffitte map here. Under the supervision of our Residential Life Coordinator, Iain Spark, and various house parents, students are made to feel at home with family dinners, activities, and support throughout their stay.
Student Houses:
-
Wagram House: Wagram House is a girls boarding house thought to have been designed by the architect Duval, in 1853, featuring his trademark of small statues placed in front of secret windows. Today, residents who live at Wagram illustrate our internationalism, joining the Ermitage family from countries such as Russia, South Africa, The Bahamas, New Caledonia, Venezuela, Thailand, Holland and even France! Wagram is also popular with the Ermitage community for it's welcoming garden, which perfect for springtime BBQs!
-
Mansart House: Mansart is a colorful home to our Upper School female boarders. The Mansart House instantly transports our international students to a traditional French home-environment. Special details are apparent throughout, from the hexagon tile flooring to the large lawn with sunflowers popping up around the perimeter. Mansart is located just adjacent to Vergniaud House, which you can learn about below.
- Vergniaud House: Vergniaud House is home to boys of our Middle School who board during the week, as well as full-time boarders of all ages. On the weekends during their free time, you may find the boys playing football and Frisbee on the grounds, and Foosball inside on a rainy day!
-
Lesage House: The striking pink house located on this property was designed by an Italian architect. Since becoming part of the Ermitage campus, the surrounding stables have been converted into classrooms, our Music Room, and most notably, one of our unique dorm options. For years, the wooden stable block was the only one of its kind in Maisons-Laffitte. Over 30 boys live at Lesage during the year, where they enjoy the truly unique setting of these lofty interiors.
-
Sully House: Sully House is home to girls of our Middle School who board during the week. The residents of Sully House enjoy a large common room and movie-screening den where they can let their imaginations wander after long day of studying. Bedrooms have character with exposed wood beams on the ceilings and a fun atmosphere for building lifelong friendships with your roommates!
