Lower School Building Creatively with Kapla
Kapla are small blocks made from French Pine that are intended to unleash the creative minds of children (and adults) over four years. Recently, the Lower School at Ermitage was fortunate enough to spend a day experimenting and creating magnificent buildings and shapes from these 100% recyclable and organic learning tools.
An incredible Kapla Eiffel Tower stood as tall as the teachers in the Junior Library, as a result of a collaboration of many students across all age groups in the Lower School classes. Not only did this exercise encourage camaraderie within the students’ community, it also promoted the improvement of fine motor skills and realisation of the greatness that can be achieved in a group scenario, whilst always having fun!
